DHI is excited to offer a unique opportunity for developers and innovators to test their concepts for Floating Offshore Wind Turbine (FOWT) foundation for free in our offshore wave basin. This opportunity is part of the ongoing FloatLab project, funded by Innovation Fund Denmark.

FloatLab will help lower the threshold for enterprises to test new ideas and concepts for floating foundations. The tests will allow for high-level proof of concept and improvements in an early phase of development or optimisation of existing foundation designs.

We are offering two weeks of access to our offshore wave basin. You will bring the physical model of your scaled FOWT foundation, and we will assist you with two weeks of testing.

Submit your floating offshore wind foundation concept for evaluation, and we will select the most innovative and promising design for offshore wave basin testing. We will choose the concept with the highest level of innovation and potential for the floating offshore wind industry. Our wish is to engage the academic and industrial floating wind community with the FloatLab project results and increase awareness of the benefits of physical model tests.

How to apply:

1. Send an e-mail to Danilo Tomaselli, describing your FOWT foundation concept. Material such as pictures and drawings is strongly recommended.
2. Our experts will evaluate all submissions based on innovation, feasibility and impact.
3. The selected concept will receive two weeks free access to our offshore wave basin.
